do!
After flying, relax on the
"Suwannee River" taking a boating trip,or maybe going fishing,
swimming, or skiing . The family could also take a trip to Disney
world or go to the Gulf or Atlantic coast beaches with the kids. Or
maybe even go shopping at the mall. Or go to one of the local famous
resturants in fishing village of Steinhatchee, Horseshoe, Suwannee or
Cedar Key. Anyway it would be a great place to vacation with family
and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Dixie County’s
history includes a battle at Old Town on US 19, where Chief Billy
Bowlegs met up with Andrew Jackson during the Indian uprisings. Prior
to the Civil War, Old Town was the site of a factory where Spanish
moss was turned into clean, economical stuffing for mattresses and
furniture.

can find a vast assortment of relics and fossils waiting to
be uncovered that
trace Florida's past. A must for those who enjoy collecting.
